Baked Apples from Phillis Pellman Good
Lighter than dumplings or a cobbler, yet dessert-like. Eat warm from the oven—plain or with milk, whipped cream, or ice cream.
These apples also complement mush and eggs, scrapple, and friend potatoes.
Ingrediënten
- 10 apples cored, peeled, and cut in half
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. butter or margarine melted
- 1 cup water
Instructies
- Place apples in a greased 9” x 13” baking pan.
- Mix remaining ingredients together in order in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Simmer, stirring, until thickened.
- Pour syrup over apples and bake at 350° for 30–45 minutes or until apples are tender.
