Brown Derby Old-Fashioned French Dressing

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 2 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon English mustard
- 1 clove garlic chopped
- 1 cup olive oil
- 3 cups salad vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl or blender, combine water, red wine vinegar, sugar, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and garlic.
- Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Gradually add the olive oil and salad vegetable oil while whisking or blending continuously until the dressing is fully emulsified.
- Transfer the dressing to a 2-quart Mason jar or a sealed container.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Shake the jar or stir the dressing before serving, as the oils may separate.
