Cheesy Chicken Patties

The addition of onion and cheese in this recipe lends a moistness and creaminess to counter the low-fat meat, and it gives a flavour that blends well with the simply seasoned salt and pepper.

  • 450 grams chicken mince
  • 1 ½ tablespoons peeled and diced brown onion
  • ¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg white beaten
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructies

  • Preheat air fryer at 180°C for 3 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and form into four patties, making a slight indentation in the middle of each patty.
  • (Patties tend to puff up in the middle during the cooking process, so making an indentation will ensure the patty doesn’t become a meatball.)
  • Add two patties to air fryer basket lightly greased with olive oil and cook for 6 minutes.
  • Flip patties and cook for an additional 7 minutes, until internal temperature is at least 75°C.
  • Transfer cooked patties to a large serving plate and repeat cooking with remaining patties.
  • Serve warm.
