  • 1 tablespoon 15 ml pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups 360 g powdered sugar, plus more for dusting
  • A few drops yellow food coloring
  • 12 ounces 340 g nondairy semisweet chocolate chips

Instructies

  • Prepare Filling: In a bowl, mix together the corn syrup and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, until a dough forms with a Play-Doh-like consistency.
  • Color Dough: Divide the dough into thirds.
  • Add yellow food coloring to one-third and mix until evenly colored.
  • Form “Yolks”: Divide the yellow dough into 12 equal pieces, roll into small balls, and dust with powdered sugar to prevent stickiness.
  • Place on parchment or waxed paper.
  • Form “Whites”: Divide the remaining dough into 12 equal pieces, form into small patties, and dust with powdered sugar.
  • Assemble Eggs: Place a “yolk” in the center of each patty, wrap the patty around it, and shape into an egg.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and place on parchment or waxed paper.
  • Freeze for about 1 hour to firm up.
  • Melt Chocolate: While eggs are freezing, melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl.
  • Dip Eggs: Using toothpicks, dip each egg into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Return to parchment or waxed paper to cool and harden.
  • Store: Once set, transfer eggs to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
