Classic Baked Bacon & Brown Sugar Beans

Ingrediënten

  • 2 16 to 18 oz. cans of pork ’n beans (do not drain)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 6 slices of bacon cooked crisp and crumbled

Instructies

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, dry mustard, ketchup, and crumbled bacon.
  • Spray a casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and pour one can of beans into the dish.
  • Spread half of the brown sugar mixture over the beans.
  • Add the second can of beans on top of the first layer, and then spread the remaining brown sugar mixture over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours, until the beans are hot and bubbly.
  • Serve the baked beans hot as a delicious side dish to your favorite meal.

A light-bodied red wine like a Beaujolais or a chilled rosé would complement these beans nicely.
