Classic Barbecue Sauce

Ingrediënten

  • 4 cans fire roasted diced tomatoes,(14 oz each)
  • 3 cups chopped yellow onions
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon each of ground coriander and ground cumin
  • cup molasses
  • cup packed dark brown sugar
  • ¾ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcester sauce
  • 4 teaspoons salt

Instructies

  • Heat oil in a pot.
  • Add onions and garlic and sauté until beginning to brown and softened.
  • Stir 1 teaspoon salt, chili powder, cumin, and coriander.
  • Stir in molasses and sugar.
  • Mix well and boil for about 3 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and apple cider vinegar.
  • Bring it to a boil and simmer on medium-low for 2-3 hours.
  • Add white vinegar and Worcester sauce.
  • Season it with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place in a blender.
  • Add 2 cups water and puree until smooth.
