Cranberry-Orange Crumble Bars

Ingrediënten

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructies

  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • In 1½-quart saucepan, mix granulated sugar, orange juice and water.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Stir in cranberries, orange peel and cinnamon.
  • Cook over medium heat about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened; cool completely.
  • Meanwhile, in medium bowl, mix brown sugar and butter until well blended.
  • Stir in oats, flour and salt until crumbly.
  • Press half of the crumb mixture in bottom of ungreased 13×9-inch pan.
  • Spread cranberry mixture over crust.
  • Top with remaining crumb mixture; press lightly.
  • Bake about 20 minutes or until filling is bubbly and topping is light brown.
  • Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows while warm.
  • Serve warm or cool.
