Fruit Salad
This dish is so dependent upon whatever is available, either in the garden, local orchard, or canning shelves, that a recipe for it is almost needless. Nonetheless, it is a treat, reserved for special occasions because of the vast amount of chopping it requires
Ingrediënten
- apples use several varieties with peelings on to add color
- peaches fresh or canned
- pears fresh or canned
- apricots fresh or canned
- bananas
- grapes any variety, but seeded
- Other fruits may be added in lesser amounts as available:
- strawberries
- sweet cherries seeded
- blueberries
- raspberries
- plums
Instructies
- Cut each large fruit into small pieces.
- Fold all together gently.
- Use at least one or two canned fruits so the salad is juicy rather than dry.
- Add the apples and bananas just before serving so they do not darken or get mushy
