Giant Butter-Pecan Roll With Cinnamon-Cream Glaze
Giant Butter-Pecan Roll With Cinnamon-Cream Glaze
There’s nothing more satisfying than a cake-size version of arguably one of the best breakfast treats of all time: cinnamon rolls. Fortunately, that format works great with the air fryer—the giant roll bakes up fluffy and golden. Though still topped with a decadent cinnamon–cream cheese icing as tradition, I switched up the flavors here to reflect my favorite ice cream flavor: butter pecan. This stellar treat serves two sensible people who are eating it with maybe some eggs or bacon on the side, but I won’t judge if you decide to keep the whole thing for yourself—I can’t deny that I haven’t already.
Ingrediënten
- 8 ounces store-bought pizza dough
- All-purpose flour for dusting
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- ÂĽ cup packed dark brown sugar
- ÂĽ cup chopped pecans
- ÂĽ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon Lyle’s Golden Syrup maple syrup, or dark agave syrup
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 ounce cream cheese at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon milk
- â…› teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructies
- Using a rolling pin, roll the pizza dough out on a lightly floured work surface into a rough 12 x 8-inch rectangle.
- Brush the dough all over with the melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with the brown sugar, pecans, and salt, then drizzle with the syrup.
- Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the rectangle lengthwise into 8 equal strips.
- Roll up one strip like a snail shell, then continue rolling each spiral up in the next strip until you have one giant spiral.
- Cut a piece of parchment paper or foil to the size of the bottom of your air fryer basket and line the bottom with it.
- Carefully lay the spiral in the air fryer and cover with a round of foil cut to fit the size of the spiral.
- Cook at 325°F for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil round from the top and cook the roll until golden brown and cooked through in the middle, about 10 minutes more.
- Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cream cheese, milk, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Once the roll is cooked, let it cool in the basket for 10 minutes, then carefully lift it out of the air fryer using the parchment paper bottom as an aid.
- Transfer the roll to a plate and pour the icing over the roll to cover it completely.
- Let the roll and icing cool together for at least 10 more minutes to set before cutting into wedges to serve.
