Gingerbread
Ingrediënten
- ½ cup boiling water
- ½ cup butter or shortening
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ cup molasses
- 1 egg well beaten
- 1½ cups flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ¾ tsp. ginger
- ¾ tsp. cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. allspice
Instructies
- Pour boiling water over the butter; add the brown sugar, honey, molasses, and egg and beat well.
- Sift together the dry ingredients; gradually add to the molasses mixture and beat until the batter is smooth.
- Grease an 8-inch square pan and pour the batter into the pan; bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until done.

This is great served plain, but it’s even better when served slightly warm with whipped cream on top.
