Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the pistachios.
Sprinkle in the sugar and toss with the pistachios to coat, stirring constantly, about 2 minutes.
When sugar begins to caramelize add water and stir until sugar liquefies and coats pistachios.
Transfer nuts to a piece of foil or parchment to cool.
