Green Salsa

Ingrediënten

  • 7 cups chopped peeled green tomatoes
  • 6 –12 jalapeño peppers chopped* (you may add or substitute your choice of hotter peppers if you wish)
  • 2 cups chopped red onions
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • ½ –¾ cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper

Instructies

  • Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Boil gently for 10–15 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  • Ladle into clean jars.
  • Process in boiling-water bath for 10 minutes.

Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:

*Wear rubber gloves when chopping hot peppers to avoid skin irritation.
