Ingrediënten
- 7 cups chopped peeled green tomatoes
- 6 –12 jalapeño peppers chopped* (you may add or substitute your choice of hotter peppers if you wish)
- 2 cups chopped red onions
- ½ cup lime juice
- ½ –¾ cup chopped cilantro
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
Instructies
- Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Boil gently for 10–15 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- Ladle into clean jars.
- Process in boiling-water bath for 10 minutes.
Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:
*Wear rubber gloves when chopping hot peppers to avoid skin irritation.
