Healthy Barbecue Sauce

Ingrediënten

  • 1 tablespoon unrefined coconut oil
  • 1 cup minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon naturally-fermented soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • teaspoon ground chipotle chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry basil
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 1 6oz can tomato paste
  • 1 ¼ cups homemade beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon stevia
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructies

  • Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add onions and cook stirring for about 5 minutes.
  • Add all the remaining ingredients.
  • Whisk until smooth and bring it to a low boil, covered.
  • Reduce heat and allow to simmer, stirring often until the mixture thickened, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Pour into a glass jar.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • Cover and place in your refrigerator.
  • Use this within 2 weeks or freeze.
