Step 1: Prime Rib Prep

Step 2: Oven Preheating

Step 3: Herb Butter Infusion
- In a bowl, combine softened butter, freshly ground black pepper, and herbes de Provence.
- Mix until well blended.
- Spread the herb butter mixture evenly over the entire prime rib.
- Generously season the roast with kosher salt.
Step 4: Roasting Process
- Roast the 4-pound prime rib in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Turn the oven off and, leaving the roast inside with the door closed, let it sit in the oven for 2 hours.
- Remove the roast from the oven, slice, and serve.

Turn the oven off and wait 2 hours before opening the oven door. Slice into the most perfectly medium-rare meat.
