Honey and Garlic Pork Meatballs
This recipe comes with a sweet sauce that is s perfect complement
to these pork meatballs. Try serving them at a party by using a slow
cooker or serve them right from the oven. This dish can also be
served over rice.
Ingrediënten
- 1 pound of ground pork
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup of dry bread crumbs crushed
- 2 tablespoons of cilantro finely chopped (optional)
- 2 green onions finely chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of salt or to taste
- 2 teaspoons of butter
- ½ cup of ketchup
- ¼ cup of honey
- 1 ½ teaspoons of soy sauce
- Sriracha sauce of Tabasco to taste
Instructies
- Preheat the oven to 400° F.
- Line a cookie sheet with tinfoil. Lightly spray the tinfoil with cooking spray.
- Combine the pork, egg, bread crumbs, green onion, 1 pressed clove of garlic, salt, pepper, and cilantro in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix until everything is well blended, but do not over mix.
- Shape mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place the meatballs on the cookie sheet, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- The meatballs should be cooked thoroughlyand no longer pink in the center.
- Meanwhile, use a saucepan over medium heat to prepare the sauce.
- Melt the butter first.
- Add the garlic when the butter is foamy, and cook for about 1 minute.
- Add the ketchup, honey, soy sauce, and hot sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for another minute.
- Combine the meatballs and sauce in a serving dish.
- Mix to coat the meatballs with sauce.
