Hungarian Goulash
Use special flavors and herbs to get authentic Hungarian taste.
Ingrediënten
- Minced garlic: 1 clove
- Paprika: 5 tablespoons
- Diced onion: 2 large
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Water: 2 cups
- Flank steak: 2 pounds
- Cubed and peeled potatoes: 4 large
- Caraway seed: 1/8 teaspoon
- Pepper and salt: to taste
- Dried marjoram: ¼ teaspoon
Instructies
- Melt butter in one large pot (soup) over medium heat.
- Sauté onions to make them soft.
- Add beef and make it brown.
- Mix in paprika, garlic, marjoram and caraway seeds.
- Pour water in the pot and reduce heat to almost low.
- Simmer for almost 2 ½ hours.
- Mix potato in the pot mixture and cook for almost 45 minutes – 1 hour to tender.
- Season with pepper and salt to taste.
