Mozzarella Sticklets

This is a mini versionof those deep-fried delights found on many appetiser menus — minus the oil.Serve these mini sticks with toothpicks and a warm napolitana sauce.

Ingrediënten

  • 1 ½ tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon full-cream milk
  • ½ cup plain bread crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 280 grams mozzarella cheese block cut into sticks
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Instructies

  • In a small bowl, add flour.
  • In another small bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
  • Combine bread crumbs, salt and Italian seasoning in a shallow dish.
  • Roll a mozzarella sticklet in flour, then dip in egg mixture and then roll in bread crumb mixture.
  • Shake off excess between each step.
  • Set aside on a plate and repeat with remaining mozzarella.
  • Place in freezer for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat air fryer at 200°C for 3 minutes.
  • Place half of mozzarella sticklets in fryer basket.
  • Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Shake.
  • Lightly brush with olive oil.
  • Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Shake.
  • Cook for an additional 1 minute.
  • Transfer to a serving dish.
  • Repeat with remaining sticklets and serve warm.
