Nutmeg and White Chocolate Bliss Bars
Ingrediënten
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons freshly grated nutmeg or 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- ⅔ cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¾ cup dried cranberries
- 1 ½ cups fresh or thawed frozen cranberries
- 3 ounces white baking chocolate coarsely chopped
Preparation Time: 25 minutes / Baking Time: 40 minutes at 350°F
Instructies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with foil, extending the foil over the edges for easy removal, and lightly coat the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, freshly grated nutmeg (or ground nutmeg), baking powder, and baking soda.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar and butter.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
- Allow it to cool slightly.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the flour mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Add the dried cranberries and spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle the fresh or thawed cranberries evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the top with the coarsely chopped white chocolate.
- Let it cool in the pan on a wire rack.
- Using the foil overhangs, lift the uncut bars from the pan and then cut them into individual bars.
