Peppered-Ham Tossed Salad
This salad complements most Italian dishes well.
Ingrediënten
Makes 4 to 6 servings / Prep: 20 min.
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup red wine vinegar
- ¼ cup water
- ½ pound thinly sliced black-peppered ham cut into thin strips
- ½ medium-size red onion thinly sliced
- 1 medium-size green bell pepper seeded and cut into thin strips
- 2 celery ribs sliced
- 4 pickled cherry peppers seeded and chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
- 2 heads Boston lettuce torn into bite-size pieces
Garnish:
- pickled cherry peppers
Instructies
- Combine first 3 ingredients in a jar; cover tightly.
- Set aside.
- Toss together ham and next 6 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Shake dressing vigorously, and drizzle ¾ cup over salad; toss gently.
- Reserve remaining dressing for another use.
- Garnish salad, if desired.
