Peppery Grilled Sirloin

Prep: 15 min.; Chill: 2 hrs., 30 min.; Grill: 14 min.

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • tablespoons fresh lime juice about 1 to 2 limes
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 ¾-inch-thick top sirloin steaks
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructies

  • Combine first 7 ingredients in a large shallow dish or zip-top freezer bag; add steaks.
  • Cover or seal, and chill at least 2½ hours, turning occasionally.
  • Remove steaks, reserving marinade.
  • Bring marinade to a boil in a small saucepan; boil 1 minute.
  • Sprinkle steaks with salt.
  • Grill, covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°), basting often with reserved marinade, 7 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness.
  • Discard any excess marinade.
