Porcupine Balls

Ingrediënten

  • ½ cup of uncooked long grain rice
  • ½ cup of water
  • cup of chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon celery salt
  • teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 pound of ground beef turkey can be substituted
  • 2 tablespoons of canola oil
  • 1 can of tomato sauce 15 ounces
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce

Instructies

  • Combine the rice, ½ cup of water, onion, salt, celery salt, garlic powder, and ground beef in a bowl.
  • Mix well.
  • Shape the mixture into 1 ½-inch balls.
  • Brown meatballs in oil in large skillet.
  • Combine the tomato sauce, 1 cup of water, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in another mixing bowl.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs.
  • Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  • Be sure that the rice is fully cooked before serving.
