Potatoes au Gratin
In this recipe, the potatoes are partially cooked before they’re baked. Do this step in advance, if you’d like, then chill the potatoes until you’re ready to use them.
Ingrediënten
Makes 8 servings / Prep: 20 min., Cook: 30 min., Bake: 1 hr.
- 4 large baking potatoes
- 1 large sweet onion chopped
- 1 8-ounce loaf pasteurized prepared cheese product, diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup whipping cream
Instructies
- Cook potatoes in boiling water to cover 25 to 30 minutes (potatoes will not be totally tender).
- Let cool slightly; peel and slice.
- Layer half of potatoes, half of onion, and half of cheese in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle with half of salt and pepper.
- Repeat layers.
- Drizzle with whipping cream.
- Bake potato mixture at 350° for 1 hour or until golden.
