Quiche Lorraine from Marie Gagnon
Quiche Lorraine (named for the Lorraine region of France) is a “savoureuse” open pie filled with a savory custard richly flavored with smoked bacon and cheese.
Ingrediënten
- 1 frozen pie crust
- 4 green onions sliced
- 3 eggs
- ¾ cup of shredded strong cheddar cheese or Gruyere
- ½ cup of cream
- ½ cup of milk
- ⅛ tsp. of cayenne pepper
- ¼ tsp. of freshly grated nutmeg
- Salt & pepper freshly ground
- 4 slice of bacon finely chopped
- Chopped chives to garnish
Instructies
- Preheat the oven to 400 F.
- Press the dough into the bottom of a removable bottom tart pan.
- Prick the bottom of the dough with a fork and bake for 10-20 minutes.
- Allow the crust to cool.
- Cook the bacon until crisp and allow to cool.
- Mix green onions, cheese, cream, milk, cayenne, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in bacon and pour the mixture into the baked crust.
- Bake in the oven at 325 F for another 20 minutes.
- Garnish with chives.
