Air-Fried Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, toss the onion with the olive oil, salt, and sugar.
  • Transfer to a 7-inch round cake pan insert, metal cake pan, or foil pan, place the pan in the air fryer, and cook at 300°F, stirring every 5 minutes, until browned and crispy and lightly caramelized in parts, 30 to 40 minutes.

Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:

If you want to have these potato skins even faster, use your microwave! Simply poke the potatoes all over with the tines of a fork, then cook until tender, about 10 minutes on high power. Once cooled slightly, brush the oil on the skin side of the potato shells before filling them and transferring to the air fryer to finish cooking.
