Asian-Glazed Asparagus

Toast sesame seeds by spreading them out in a thin layer in a shallow pan. Bake at 350° for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring twice.

Ingredients

  • Makes 4 to 6 servings / Prep: 3 min. Cook: 9 min.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 pounds fresh asparagus
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted

Instructions

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat; set aside
  • Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
  • Cook asparagus in hot olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring often, 6 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  • Add chicken broth mixture to asparagus; cook, stirring constantly 1 minute or until thoroughly heated.
  • Stir in pepper.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Serve immediately.
