Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped gingerroot
  • 1 package frozen soy-protein burger crumbles 12 oz
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 6 whole wheat burger buns split

Instructions

  • In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add onion, bell pepper and gingerroot; cook 3 to 4 minutes or until onion is softened.
  • Stir in crumbles, barbecue sauce and soy sauce.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:

Soy-protein crumbles come both frozen and refrigerated. When frozen, the crumbles do not require thawing.
