Aunt Linda’s Hearty Chili
Ingredients
- 2 pounds hamburger or sausage
- 1 to 2 packages Chili-O seasoning mix or other brand
- 2 10 oz. cans tomato soup
- 1 can water add more if you prefer a thinner consistency
- 2 16 oz. cans kidney beans with juice
- 2 cans stewed tomatoes with juice you may want to run them through a blender
- 1 small onion chopped
Instructions
- Brown the hamburger (or sausage) and onions in a large pot.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Add the Chili-O seasoning mix, tomato soup, water, kidney beans with juice, stewed tomatoes with juice, and chopped onion to the pot.
- Simmer the chili over low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:
To double the recipe, use 5 pounds of hamburger, 3 packages of Chili-O mix, 5 cans of soup, and double the rest of the ingredients. This serves 25 to 30 people.
