Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt
  • ¼ avocado sliced
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • Butter or butter spread
  • Cheese optional

Instructions

  • In a non-stick skillet or buttered regular skillet, fry a single egg over medium heat.
  • Season with a sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste as the egg cooks.
  • If desired, break the yolk to ensure even cooking.
  • Flip the egg once to cook both sides evenly.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, stack half of the cheese (if using), followed by the cooked egg, several slices of avocado, and then the remaining cheese (if using).
  • Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Serve hot and savor the simple yet delicious flavors!
