Barbecue Turkey Quesadilla Burgers
This delicious burger is made with a lean turkey patty coated in tangy barbecue sauce and topped off with fresh guacamole. It is sandwiched between two tortillas, this is the perfect burger to enjoy whenever you are craving authentic Mexican cuisine.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- ½ teaspoons of smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoons of powdered garlic
- ½ teaspoons of powdered onion
- ½ teaspoons of cayenne pepper
- 1 pound of lean ground turkey
- ½ cup of mild salsa
- ½ cup of barbecue sauce
- 4 burrito sized flour tortillas
- ½ cup of sharp white cheddar cheese grated
- 1 avocado
- 1 lime juice only
- ½ teaspoons of salt for serving
Instructions
- Preheat an outdoor grill to medium or high heat.
- In a bowl, add in 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, smoked paprika, powdered onion, powdered garlic and cayenne pepper.
- Stir well to mix.
- Shape the lean turkey into 4 patties.
- Season with the seasoning mix.
- Place the turkey patties onto the grill.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
- Transfer onto one of the tortillas.
- Spread the grated white cheddar cheese over the patties.
- In a bowl, add in the lime juice, ½ teaspoon of remaining salt and avocado.
- Mash well until smooth in consistency.
- Spread over the top of the patties.
- Top off with the remaining tortillas.
- In a bowl, add in the mild salsa and barbecue sauce.
- Stir well to mix.
- Spread onto both sides of the inside of the tortillas.
- Slice in half and serve.
