Barbecue Turnip Chips

Slicing the turnips paper-thin and consistently is the key to perfect turnip chips. The air fryer will brown the edges, but keep checking them toward the end of the cooking time, as they can go from brown to burned quickly!

Equipment

Ingrediënten

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • teaspoon erythritol sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon salt divided
  • 1 large turnip sliced into 3mm-thick circles
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Instructies

  • Preheat air fryer to 200°C for 3 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine paprika, chilli powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, erythritol and ½ teaspoon salt.
  • Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, toss turnip slices with olive oil and ½ teaspoon salt.
  • Place half of turnip slices in air fryer basket lightly greased with olive oil and cook for 6 minutes.
  • Shake basket and cook for an additional 6 minutes.
  • Transfer chips to a medium bowl and repeat cooking with remaining turnip slices.
  • Toss with seasoning mix.
  • Let rest for 15 minutes, then serve.
