Cheesy Bacon-and-Ham Casserole
Use reduced-sodium bacon, if desired.
Ingredients
Makes 8 servings / Prep: 10 min., Cook: 25 min., Bake: 35 min., Stand: 5 min.
- 1 8-ounce package bacon slices, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 8-ounce package diced cooked ham
- ¾ cup uncooked quick-cooking grits
- 1 16-ounce loaf pasteurized cheese product, cubed
- ¼ cup butter or margarine
- 6 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Cook bacon and ham in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 12 minutes or until bacon is crisp; remove bacon and ham, and drain on paper towels.
- Cook grits according to package directions.
- Add cheese and butter; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended and cheese melts.
- Beat in eggs, milk, and pepper.
- Stir in bacon mixture.
- Pour into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until set.
- Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
