Church Spread

Bread is customarily a prime ingredient at the lunch following the Old Order Amish Sunday church service. What is offered as a topping for it has changed over time and continues to vary depending upon the district and individual hosting home. Schmierkase, apple butter, and jams and jellies in manifold combinations have all been popular.
