Ingredients
- 6 pounds apples peeled and chopped
- 8 cups cranberry juice
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon optional
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg optional
Instructions
- In a large kettle, combine apples and cranberry juice.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until soft.
- Process apples in food mill or food processor until you have a smooth puree.
- Back in the kettle, combine puree, sugar, and spices.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil gently, stirring often, until mixture is thickened and spreadable.
- Ladle into clean jars and process for 10 minutes in boiling-water bath.
