Creamed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 8 medium-sized potatoes
- salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 cups milk
- ¾ cup cheese grated (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and dice potatoes.
- Cook until soft in water, slightly salted.
- Drain until nearly dry.
- While potatoes cook, melt butter or margarine.
- Stir in flour and seasonings to form paste.
- Gradually add milk, over heat, stirring constantly.
- When sauce comes to boil, cook for 1 minute until it is smooth and thickened.
- Add cheese, if desired, stirring until it melts.
- Fold sauce into cooked potatoes and serve.
