Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 7 ounces maitake hen of the woods mushrooms
  • ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
  • Place the maitake mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket and drizzle them with the soy sauce mixture.
  • Cook at 300°F for 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the mushrooms with flaky sea salt, sesame seeds, and chopped thyme.
  • Drizzle the remaining 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil over the mushrooms.
  • Continue cooking until the mushrooms are browned and crisp at the edges and tender inside, about 5 minutes more.
  • Remove the mushrooms from the air fryer, transfer them to plates, and serve hot.
