Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground pork
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup of dry bread crumbs crushed
- 2 tablespoons of cilantro finely chopped (optional)
- 2 green onions finely chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of salt or to taste
- 2 teaspoons of butter
- ½ cup of ketchup
- ¼ cup of honey
- 1 ½ teaspoons of soy sauce
- Sriracha or Tabasco sauce to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Line a cookie sheet with tinfoil and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, egg, bread crumbs, green onion, 1 pressed clove of garlic, salt, pepper, and cilantro (if using).
- Mix until everything is well blended, but avoid overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place the meatballs on the prepared cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Melt the butter until foamy, then add the remaining garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
- Add the ketchup, honey, soy sauce, and hot sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for another minute.
- Once the meatballs are done, combine them with the sauce in a serving dish, mixing to coat the meatballs evenly with the sauce.
