Mexican Coffee from Unknown Author
Ingredients
Makes 6 servings

- ½ cup ground dark roast coffee
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- ⅓ cup chocolate syrup
- ¼ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings:
- whipped cream
- ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Place coffee in filter basket of coffeemaker; add 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg.
- Add 5 cups water to coffeemaker; brew coffee according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Combine milk, chocolate syrup, and sugar in a large saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
- Stir in brewed coffee and vanilla extract.
- Pour immediately into mugs, and top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream and ground cinnamon.
