Ingredients

Makes 6 servings

Prep: 12 min., Cook: 5 min.

  • ½ cup ground dark roast coffee
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • cup chocolate syrup
  • ¼ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Toppings:

  • whipped cream
  • ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Place coffee in filter basket of coffeemaker; add 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg.
  • Add 5 cups water to coffeemaker; brew coffee according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Combine milk, chocolate syrup, and sugar in a large saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
  • Stir in brewed coffee and vanilla extract.
  • Pour immediately into mugs, and top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream and ground cinnamon.
