Ingredients
- 1 cup quinoa rinsed
- 2 cups water
- ½ cup chopped apples
- ⅓ cup raisins
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Honey to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the quinoa under cold water in a fine mesh sieve to remove any bitterness.
- In a saucepan, combine the rinsed quinoa and 2 cups of water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, add the chopped apples, raisins, and ground cinnamon to the quinoa mixture.
- Stir well to combine, then cover the saucepan again and continue simmering until the water is fully absorbed and the quinoa is cooked to your desired consistency, usually about 10-15 minutes in total.
- Once the quinoa is cooked, sweeten the cereal with honey to taste, if desired.
