Rustic Hungarian Marha Pörkölt
Traditional Hungarian beef stew with paprika and vegetables, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Hungarian paprika
- 1 pound beef chuck roast boneless, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 teaspoons sunflower oil
- 1 medium-sized leek chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 2 cups roasted vegetable broth
- 2 ripe tomatoes pureed
- 2 tablespoons red wine
- 2 bell peppers chopped
- 2 medium carrots sliced
- 1 celery stalk peeled and diced
Instructions
- Add flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and beef cubes to a resealable bag.
- Shake to coat the beef evenly.
- Heat sunflower oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Sauté the leeks, garlic, bay leaves, and caraway seeds until fragrant, about 4 minutes.
- Transfer to a lightly greased baking pan.
- Brown the beef cubes in batches in the same Dutch oven.
- Add browned beef to the baking pan.
- Pour in the vegetable broth, pureed tomatoes, and red wine.
- Place the pan in the Air Fryer basket and bake at 325°F for 40 minutes.
- Add chopped bell peppers, carrots, and celery to the pan.
- Cook for an additional 20 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy a rustic taste of Hungary!
