Spicy Southwest Beef Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix from a 1.25-oz. package
  • 6 tablespoons salsa
  • 4 slices Pepper Jack cheese 3/4 oz. each
  • 4 hamburger buns split

Instructions

  • Heat your gas or charcoal grill.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, taco seasoning mix, and 2 tablespoons of salsa.
  • Mix well.
  • Shape the beef mixture into 4 patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Place the patties on the grill and cover.
  • Cook over medium heat for 12 to 13 minutes, turning occasionally, until a thermometer inserted in the patties reads 160°F (71°C).
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Pepper Jack cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • Place each burger on a bun, and top with 1 tablespoon of remaining salsa.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
