Sweet and Sour Steamed Cabbage

“My mother used to add sour cream to cooked cabbage. Then we’d have a little container of vinegar on the table and we’d pour some over the cabbage on our plates.” It’s a practice the 80-year-old woman still keeps. “We cut the cabbage in chunks, steam it tender, then eat it with a little pickle juice or vinegar and sugar added. You feel better that way,” she states with sureness.
