  • 1 package of active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cups rice milk or any other milk of your choice
  • ¾ cup oil such as vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 cups whole wheat flour plus extra for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius).
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes until foamy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the dissolved yeast mixture, rice milk, oil, honey, baking soda, baking powder, and whole wheat flour.
  • Mix well until a dough forms.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  • Using a biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits from the dough and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Gather the remaining dough, roll it out again, and cut out more biscuits until all the dough is used.
  • Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 8-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
  • Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
