Rolled Oats Cookies
“Next to molasses and sugar cookies we ate oatmeal cookies. We always bought oatmeal by the 50-pound bag.”
Ingrediënten
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup lard or vegetable shortening
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups raisins
- 1 cup nuts chopped
Instructies
- Cream together the sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
- Stir dry ingredients together.
- Combine dry ingredients with creamed mixture, blending thoroughly.
- Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350° for 12–15 minutes.
