For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup very finely crushed pretzels
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. baking soda
- ½ cup butter softened
- ⅔ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla
For the Topping:
- 1 7- oz. jar marshmallow crème
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup salted cocktail peanuts
- 1 14- oz. pkg. about 50 vanilla caramels, unwrapped
- 2 Tbsp. milk
Preparation Time: 25 minutes / Baking Time: 12 minutes at 350°F
Instructies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with foil, extending the foil over the edges.
- For the crust, in a small bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, very finely crushed pretzels, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with a mixer on medium to high for about 30 seconds.
- Add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- Beat until combined, scraping the bowl as needed.
- Beat in the flour mixture.
- Spread the dough in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until it’s light brown.
- Place the pan on a wire rack.
- Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, microwave the marshmallow crème and peanut butter for about 30 seconds or until softened; stir until smooth.
- Stir in the powdered sugar.
- Spread this mixture over the warm crust, then sprinkle with peanuts.
- In a medium heavy saucepan, cook and stir the vanilla caramels and milk over medium-low heat until the caramels are melted and smooth.
- Spread the caramel mixture over the peanut butter layer.
- Top with chopped peanuts, if desired.
- Let it cool.
- Using the foil, lift out the uncut bars and cut them into individual bars.
