Southwestern Turkey Panini
If you are looking for a sandwich recipe with all kinds of southwestern flavor, this is the recipe for you. It has a depth in flavor thanks to the Colby jack cheese. In addition, the avocado and chipotle mayo give it creaminess and a kick, respectively.
Ingrediënten
- 1 peeled and seeded medium avocado
- ½ tbsp finely chopped cilantro leaves
- ½ tsp lime juice
- 4 slices large sourdough bread
- 1 tbsp chipotle mayonnaise
- 4 slices tomato
- 8 slices Colby Jack cheese
- 8 slices blackened oven-roasted turkey breast
- Salt and pepper
Instructies
- In a bowl, mix the lime juice, avocado, and cilantro.
- Mash the mixture, then add pepper and salt to taste.
- On every bread piece, spread the mayonnaise on each side.
- With the mayonnaise side of two bread pieces facing up, place cheese, turkey, tomato, avocado mixture, turkey, and cheese in that order.
- Cover the ingredients with the remaining bread pieces with the mayonnaise side contacting the cheese.
- Cook the sandwiches on medium heat for 6 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich halfway to ensure that the bread is well toasted, and the cheese gets to melt.
