Spareribs and Sauerkraut

Ingrediënten

  • 3 lbs. spareribs
  • salt and pepper
  • water
  • 1 quart sauerkraut
  • ¼ cup onion diced (optional)
  • 1 apple peeled and sliced thin (optional)
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar optional

Instructies

  • Season the meat, then brown slowly in a heavy skillet.
  • Add water to a depth of ½–1 inch.
  • Cover and cook slowly one hour.
  • Spread sauerkraut over pork.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar, and onion and apple if desired.
  • Cover and cook slowly one more hour.
