Spiced Cider from Phillis Pellman Good
Commercial cider presses were begun to meet the local demand for cider-making. Family orchards and local fruit farms cover the land from the central counties of Pennsylvania on eastward.
The apple drink is most often served cold, but in recent years it has become a well-liked hot drink, especially as winter comes and the cider season ends.
Ingrediënten
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- sugar to taste
Instructies
- Mix all ingredients except sugar together.
- Taste and add sugar if needed.
- Bring to a boil and simmer gently for 6–8 minutes.
- Strain and serve hot.
