Sweet and Spicy Ragu
Ingrediënten
- 2 tbsps olive oil
- 1 lb bulk sweet Italian sausage
- 1 lb bulk hot Italian sausage
- 1 large red onion diced
- 2 ribs celery diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- ½ C. dry red wine
- 1 28 oz can Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 28 oz can tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- 1 C. heavy cream
Instructies
- Place a large skillet on medium heat.
- Heat the oil in it.
- Add the sausages and cook them for 10 min.
- Add the onion, celery, and garlic then cook them of 8 min.
- Grease a slow cooker.
- Transfer the sausage mix to it.
- Stir the wine into the skillet then pour it into the pot.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and salt then combine them completely.
- Put on the lid and cook the ragu for 5 h on low.
- Stir in the cream.
- Cook the ragu of 1 h on low.
- Serve it warm.
