Sweet and Spicy Ragu

Ingrediënten

  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 lb bulk sweet Italian sausage
  • 1 lb bulk hot Italian sausage
  • 1 large red onion diced
  • 2 ribs celery diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ C. dry red wine
  • 1 28 oz can Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 28 oz can tomato sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 C. heavy cream

Instructies

  • Place a large skillet on medium heat.
  • Heat the oil in it.
  • Add the sausages and cook them for 10 min.
  • Add the onion, celery, and garlic then cook them of 8 min.
  • Grease a slow cooker.
  • Transfer the sausage mix to it.
  • Stir the wine into the skillet then pour it into the pot.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and salt then combine them completely.
  • Put on the lid and cook the ragu for 5 h on low.
  • Stir in the cream.
  • Cook the ragu of 1 h on low.
  • Serve it warm.
