Ingrediënten

  • 2 cups self-rising flour or make your own self-rising flour with 2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • cups whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar white or turbinado

Instructies

  • Preheat your oven to 500°F and position the rack in the center.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour (or the homemade self-rising flour) and white sugar.
  • Add the whipping cream and stir until almost all the flour is incorporated, forming a sticky dough.
  • Drop the dough in 12 portions, about a scant ¼ cup each, onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Generously brush the tops of the dough portions with melted butter and sprinkle them with coarse sugar.
  • Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven until they are golden brown, which should take about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Once baked, you can enjoy the biscuits, and any leftovers can be cooled and stored in an airtight container.
  • They can be stored at room temperature for up to a day or frozen for up to 3 months.
