Texas Rib Eye Steak

The rib eye is a rugged cut of meat that takes on the barbecue sauce in this recipe like a boss. Savoury, spicy and salty, this dish is perfect served with a refreshing coleslaw or creamy cauliflower mash.

Equipment

Ingrediënten

  • ¾ tablespoon water
  • ¼ cup reduced sugar barbecue sauce
  • 1 clove garlic peeled and minced
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 340 gram, 3cm-thick rib eye steak

Instructies

  • Preheat air fryer at 200°C for 3 minutes.
  • Pour water in bottom of air fryer to ensure minimum smoke from fat drippings.
  • Combine barbecue sauce, garlic and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
  • Divide in half.
  • Slather steak with half of sauce.
  • Place steak in air fryer basket lightly greased with olive oil.
  • Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Flip steak.
  • Brush with remaining sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
  • Transfer steak to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
